Informatix Piranesi has now returned to the digital shelves of CADgarage after being unavailable for few months due to changes in distribution. And as one of our favorite tools we're glad it's back! Check it out HERE on CADgarage.
The name has also changed from Piranesi 2010 Pro to Piranesi 6 to continue the previous naming conventions. Although essentially the same version there have been some bug fixes and support for SketchUp 8 in this release. The upgrade to Piranesi 6 is free for all owners of Piranesi 2010 Pro.
For those that are on Piranesi versions 4.0, 5.0 or 5.1 you can upgrade to Piranesi 6 and take advantage of all the new features in the current version or any you have missed in the past. You can find more info on upgrades and new features in Piranesi 6 HERE.
Some of the more popular new features have been layers which greatly improve the ease with which complex renderings can be created, plane & material locking, increased speed and 3D stereo imaging.
Included with version 6 are entourage galleries of people and trees to further enhance your renderings!

We have successfully survived another Boston Marathon up here and as I watched the runners heading towards the finish line it reminded me of those tireless efforts that many of us have gone through to get a project out the door after many long hours and the struggle to finish up the models and renderings. Under-appreciated and exhausted but always looking for new tools and methods to get across our own finish lines a little faster.
Artlantis R (rendering) and Artlantis Studio (rendering + animation) have proved to be great tools for Architects and designers looking to create photo-realistic renderings and animations of their projects for marketing and visualization. Artlantis' ease of use and incredibly fast rendering algorithms have added to it's increasing popularity in the last few years. It's really decreased the need to have "experts" skilled in more complex programs spending days to achieve the desired results. And with connections to ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, SketchUp Pro and Revit it works with the major modeling tools in use by our profession.
But...
A great model of the building is just a start. What about the materials? Artlantis does come with a number of shaders but the add-on shader libraries will greatly increase the breadth of your selection without costing you a lot of your time creating new shaders nor do they dip too deeply into the wallet. And what about the entourage? Plunking your product on a barren wasteland isn't a great sale to the client.
We got you covered...
From now until 5/31/2010 purchase any of the Artlantis Shaders or Objects and enter coupon code "ART10" at checkout for 10% off. Click HERE to see the collection.
So bring your designs to life a little faster with Artlantis Shaders and Objects and win the race against time!
